Tony Jacklin
We are proud to have Tony Jacklin as patron.
A retired English golfer and the most successful British player of his generation, Tony has won two major: the 1969 Open Championship and the 1970 U.S. Open. As the Ryder Cup captain from 1983 to 1989, he led Europe to victories and a tie in four events, making his contributions to golf truly remarkable.
Tony Jacklin said "I've been hearing impaired for the last 25 years and I know very well how not being able to hear the golf club strike the golf ball became a problem, including the swish of the club when you're hitting a full shot, the click of the ball. When you take those things away it changes the whole picture. So on that basis I know some of the problems which face these individuals and I'm more than happy to help these individuals in any way I can"
