Auld Enemies Cup - date to be confirmed

Event Information

  • Auld Enemies Cup is a 36 hole modified match play event between England Deaf Golf and Scottish Deaf Golf Association

  • Auld Enemies Cup takes place on (date to be confirmed)

  • Auld Enemies Cup takes place over two days on the (Golf Club to be confirmed) Course with a total of 8 matches.

Who can take part?

  • All players should be a member of EDG and SDGA

  • EDG and SDGA are invited to provide a team of 8 players with CONGU handicap limit of 24.4

  • EDG and SDGA are also invited to provide a maximum of 2 players with society handicaps to make numbers up

  • 10 players total

Scoring

  • SCRATCH – Each team select 4 players to play in two scratch matches

  • HANDICAP – Each team select 6 players to play in three handicap matches

  • Hole Points: 1 points to win a hole, ½ point to half a hole, no points to lose a hole

  • Hole points are accumulated over 18 holes

  • Team with most hole points wins Auld Enemies Cup

  • If both points are tied, Scotland retains the Cup

 

Format - SATURDAY

  • All players are to meet up at the clubhouse by 11.00am (please do arrive early before 11.00am)

  • Tee times starts from 12.00pm on FOUR BALL BETTERBALL

  • The lowest handicap player gives strokes to the other three players based on 90% of the difference between the lowest handicap and that of each player.

  • Hole Points: 1 points to win a hole, 1⁄2 point to half a hole, no points to lose a hole

  • Hole points are accumulated over 18 hole

Format – SUNDAY

  • All players are to meet up at the clubhouse by 9.00am - (please do arrive early before 9.00am)

  • Tee times starts from 10.00am on GREENSOMES

  • Calculate the handicap for each pair as follows:

  • (Lower handicap x 0.6) + (higher handicap x 0.4).

  • If the handicaps in the pair are equal, then use half the combined handicaps. The lower handicap pair then gives strokes to the other based on the full difference between the two handicaps.

  • Hole Points: 1 points to win a hole, 1⁄2 point to half a hole, no points to lose a hole

  • Hole points are accumulated over 18 holes.​​
